Colombia has been accepting 10 flights a month for 4 years. All of a sudden, there is conflict. Seems odd.

That confirms what Cato is saying. The United States recovered from the post pandemic recession before most of the world. We had job shortages, and people were crossing the border to work. More recently, other countries caught up, and we have fewer openings, the surge is ending.

The collapse of Venezuela's economy, the worsening of conditions of in Haiti, Cuba, and Nicaragua contributed.

Very low on the list was Biden's invitation to asylum seekers. The video admitted those were job seekers, not asylum seekers. That clearly debunks the false  Republican talking point that Biden somehow invited a surge.

Which one of the people in the video took $10,000 out of his savings account to go live in a city that's expensive to live in ?
Other than it's probably not a common occurrence, if they have $10,000 what's the incentive to move from Mauritania to NYC ?

Custard still buying into fantasy Republican talking points. The facts don't match the agenda.

Cato debunked that.

Congressional Democrats agreed Biden's message may have encouraged asylum seekers, many, maybe most of whom were disappointed.

Most of the surge were simply not asylum seekers. Early on, asylum seekers still had to remain in Mexico. Many others were immediately removed.
