It literally took me a decade to figure out white privilege. Basically, on one level, it means we do not have to deal with systemic racism.

What is odd, is those things are deemed privilege, because for black people, they are normal.

There is another level that is about white arrogance, insensitivity, and cultural chauvinism.

A few years ago, Danny Parkins did a 24 hour show on the radio so that they could raise money so they could have one decent grocery store on the actual west side of the city in the Austin neighborhood. Their only food options before that were liquor stores and convenience stores the West Loop has Mariano’s and Whole Foods.
