It was kind of shocking to me how many places down here charge credit card fees to offset the 3% the card companies ding them for taking plastic. Makes sense though and I have no problem with it.
I don't mind it if it's a small business. I appreciate them taking cards at all. If they want to pass the fee along, that's fine. As long as they don't charge 5% and try to profit off of it.
No bullshit, I went to a place in Sheboygan, WI a couple weekends ago. Was hanging out up there with a relative of the wife's. Has a house right on the lake. Fucking awesome actually.
Anyway, we went to this place that had pretty good broasted chicken, and great desserts. The check came, and I went to pay. 90 bucks for 6 of us, which actually wasn't bad, but I laid my card down on the table with the check and the waitress said, oh, we don't take credit cards. I'm like are you bullshitting me? I'm supposed to have cash for a 90 dollar bill?
Well, we have an ATM in the gaming room. So I had to go to their little shitty slot room, get money out of the ATM to pay for a fucking 90 dollar dinner. It was pretty fucking hilarious.
ATM only charged me 2.25 tho. But still, that was just cute.
