They are the 5th largest economy in the world, don’t worry, Tennessee ain’t paying for it.

Plus they want to tackle climate issues but Red State Socialists refuse...

Just sweep the climate change conundrum under the rug.  Problem solved.

Some communities in the red states are taking the issue seriously and doing what they can to adapt and improve their climate resilience.  Even in Tennessee.

But we pay them and should get that assistance when needed for instances like this. Yet, we continue giving countries and institutions all over the world free money and they haven't done shit for us. Then wonder why we’re swimming in so much debt. Trump actually is trying to make them pay their fair share. Ease the burden on our own people. Sounds like a great plan to me. THAT’S globalization. Why make our tax burden something only Americans have to pay for?! I mean if Democrats are letting illegals in left and right, why aren’t they having to pay?! Makes too much sense for them to understand.

Oil prices spiked 3% with the shit going down in the middle east. The US is the #1 per capita user of oil in the world.
That money we send to stabilize the world pays an enormous positive dividend to the US economy.

1) No, we can't just drill our way out of it. As a capitalist free market economy, Exxon will charge the global spot price no matter where the oil came from.

2) We could buffer ourselves from that by increasing production from renewables, but I guess somehow a solar panel is a marxist plot.

More federal money going into Red States than they are paying. Blue States getting raped financially. Why are Blue States paying for the bad choices made by Red State residents? Just like student loan forgiveness, you fucked up, you pay for it. Stop looking for a government handout, Red Staters!

I mean, I agree generally, that it might not be the best plan to continue subsidizing areas that are becoming unlivable such that the market would correct and maybe we let the marshes grow back in places where homes aren't tenable, I wouldn't put it this way, but this is somewhat askew from your standard line.

So why will they receive over 160 billion in federal aid this year? Up until a few years ago California was barely a donor state and in some years was a taker state. Will be interesting to see what happens to that status now that tech has cooled.

That was our money to begin with.... and yes, California has always been a donor state, going back to the Gold Rush

Tech has cooled? The Nasdaq is within a percent or two of the all time high.

Generally the denialism happens in state capitals or DC. Mayors on the ground who actually have to deal with this shit, their City Manager and Structural engineer tell them that water is seeping into the road bed on the beach side road and the road will wash away, have to do something about it.

Or, the dumbfucks wouldn't build where the hurricanes and floods hit. Now they want to sell...

But then it happened again, and again. Like many others in the community, he put his home up for sale in the spring of this year. After seeing little interest, he cut the asking price.

On Friday, Hurricane Helene deposited more than 6 feet of storm surge in the neighborhood. The rushing waters ripped the “For Sale” sign off his front lawn, and etched a waterline that reached halfway up his front door, just underneath the doorbell. He reduced the asking price for a fifth time.

“We flooded here four times in the last four years,” said Driscoll, as he threw his television sets, furniture, appliances and other belongings to the curb. “I’m just hoping I can sell the house. It’s a good neighborhood for sure, but dealing with the floods is horrible.”

What infrastructure exactly would have stopped Helene from putting 12 feet of water into Asheville?

3.8 Trillion? NVidia alone is worth 3 trillion. Apple is 3.2 trillion. Those companies are worth that much because we sell a whole shit ton of stuff to those countries that exist because of our support.

Nothing is more helpful in selling a house than talking to the Wall Street Journal and saying, well, damn, I really hope I can sell this fucking thing. It floods all the time here tho. Fuck, man. I don't know...

So, I know a guy that grew up around Asheville, and his parents are still there. In fairness, that area is used to having flash floods, and are usually well equipped to deal with it. But 24 inches of rain in 12 hours might be a bit much.
