In the end this is no different than Columbine or Sandy Hook or Vegas or Parkland. Kyle Rittenhouse.

I’m sure this dude - who knew he would die - will have some manifesto explaining how he’s saving the country. But in the end, as conservatives are want to say - we have a mental health crisis. And it doesn’t care who you are. Mean high school kids. Mean Trump. Mean libs. It’s just a trigger for a completely fucked up person to end up acting out the crazy.

Which is a problem when that motive and opportunity meets easy access to weaponry

Parents are early 50s, behavioral care counselors.

No criminal background or financial problems

Kid donated to Act Blue in January 2021 when he was 17 and  a junior in high school. "The donation was earmarked for the Progressive Turnout Project, a national group that rallies Democrats to vote."

He registered to vote as a Republican in September of 2021, when he was a senior in high school.

Graduated  Bethel Park HS in 2022.

Voted as a Republican in 2022 midterms.

No information on the kid's or his family's background with gun ownership or training

No information on what the kid was doing since high school. Work? Education? Video Games? Social Media?

As with many disturbed people, looks like his politics were all over the place.  Maybe there is a social media trail that can provide more information.

I might be mistaken, but I believe Republicans consistently vote against improved access to mental healthcare?

Healthcare in general has maybe improved some since the ACA passed, but we still lag behind countries with universal healthcare.
