His fans say Trump tells it like it is. That is ironic, because he lies a lot. I think what they mean is he has no filters. Whatever pops up into his pea brain from his ass comes out his mouth. He is like a junior high boy. Much of it is rude, crude, cruel, and insulting. That appeals to his fellow mental midgets.

Trump is an historically bad candidate. In a rational world, opposition shouldn’t have any trouble beating him without all the political theater, which is all the ballot measures actually were. Unfortunately they’re running it back with Joe.

This is the problem with the liberals. They follow the constitution. Which is good, except the circumstance where the conservative justices just rule for the policy they prefer, constitution be damned.

I guess I’m not that surprised.  I read a couple of legal opinions that said the people who wrote the 14th amendment left very few clues about process, especially in Section 3.

They also pointed out that very few Confederate leaders were disqualified.  Even Alexander H. Stephens, the former VP of the Confederacy, served in the House after the Civil War.

I find something like this very funny. It supposes a lot more nuanced thought in the minds of people from the 1860s than is probably meaningful.

Michael Phelps is considered the best swimmer of all time. The Michael Phelps that won 8 gold medals in Beijing would win zero golds in Paris.
If Michael Phelps were 16 years younger, he would at least win several, having trained with more modern methods.

It's not that the men in 1860 were stupid, it's just that their education and experience didn't include everything we figured out since.
