I remain skeptical that Kofi could get $1 Million guaranteed.
Unless it was a group of really stupid donors who were going to pool their money and have him do some minimal PR appearances for show to comply with the rules. Really it is just a front to pay players a salary in such a case. Nobody, or any legit marketing dept really believes Kofi truly would be making a difference in any company’s profit margin.
30 years ago the school via donors would give him a lucrative summer “job” to make sure the astroturf was still green at the practice fields.
Again, if he was told he would get 1M$ he would be a fool to not take it.
I am guessing that lesser players would make some decent pocket money for NIL, but only a few will make serious money from this.
CU is a small market cowtown and nobody in Chicago cares that much about Illinois right now unless they become a true national power.
