Dumbfucknic is at it again.....It's not just the singular player, it is how good he is/can be here/can be with our current team, as well as being a key to take us to the next level. That level is what we as fans are all clamoring for to happen, and then more of it as well.

BU and staff are putting together enough very good experience pieces with some proven/unproven supreme talent....next year gonna be fun to watch.

Mayer is just a random role player. He’s not any better than Grandison and would give the team nothing that Goode couldn’t do.

The underestimation of Kofi on this board is insane. But you’ll realize it next season.

Yeah that was a bad take even for Truth. TSJ, Melendez, Mayer, Hawkins are all plus defenders with length and can all handle the ball.

None of these guys can dribble.

Grandison also started on a 1 seed.  Didn’t make him any better than what he was.

Rodgers is an excellent handler and better passer. Tim Anderson says he is pretty much a guard. He could be the most B1G ready of the freshmen. He, Clark, and Epps can all be the lead guard against pressure

Hawkins and Dainja are very good ball handlers for bigs. Both can pass the ball. Melendez showed a good handle. They and Mayer can be secondary ball handlers.

I think I want Goode and Harris catching passes in transition  at this point.

Overall, ball handling should be a strength of the team. Also, lots of long, agile defenders.

#20 in purple clearly the best player on the floor below. Not much he can't do except his long range shot needs work.  Lateral agility, quickness off the floor, handles, passing, finishing at the rim through contact standout. Lefty #4 in white (Ames) is probably second best?

Good enough to be a rotation player for a national champion; recruited by UNC, Texas Tech, and Memphis, but not a quality addition to the Illini. JFC dude.
