I like Jake from State Farm.

I find the “we will rock you” (Chevrolet?) commercials annoying.

I don’t care whether Jake is black or white, I just think the commercials are unfunny to a level of cringe.

 Pitch men that are geeks are only relatable if they are self aware that they are geeks and try to make it funny.

The black State Farm kid is a geek but he’s not funny.  And his voice is terrible for commercials. It’s an unsure of himself sheepish voice. If you do a commercial, it better be a strong voice actor like the black guy that does All State. He’s a strong respectable actor to do insurance commercials.

On my hate scale I’d put these 3 advertising people:

#1. Black Jake from State Farm
#2. The geek from Silicon Valley that did the I think Verizon commercials
#3.  The 2 nerdy borderline gay? Middle age white guys on the Sonic commercials

Who do these people appeal to? Woke white liberals and gays?  20% of the population at most?

I have State Farm.  Not because of Jake.  Of the 3 big auto carriers, Progressive, Geico, & State Farm - SF is by far the most antiquated.  But, they had the best rate and their claim service is decent.

I've never had an issue on a State Farm claim. A hew roof, no questions asked. 2 car repairs, no questions asked.
My wife got plowed into a few years ago. The guy had Progressive and Progressive tried to advise us on the next steps. The repair shop told us that listening to State Farm was the right thing to do, and that Progressive tries to cut corners everywhere.

The white Jake is (or maybe was) an actual State Farm employee, from Bloomington. I think he worked in the call center.
