So I have been digging through the teams statistics since the Purdue game earlier this season at home.  Our 3 point shooting is horrible.  Over the last 14 game stretch we are averaging 25 attempts per game while only converting on less than 35%. of them.    I think the analytics say if you attempt 30 or more 3's per game and shoot less than 40% from the arc while doing so you have a little less than a 99% chance to lose.

I bet less than 10% of Illinois FG attempts this year have been outside the paint but inside the arc.

Fouls were as usual B1G style....can't point to that at all here. When you go 10 minutes in first half without a FG and miss how many free throws and layups...well straight garbage.

ILLINI will seriously struggle first game out if they play like this again.

Hawk and Belo for the things they do well.....well don't do enough well with all the mistakes factored in.

Went fishing today, missed the game. The fish weren't hitting and neither could the Illini outside of Kofi and Hawkins. Another poster said they don't shoot/hit shots in the area outside the lane and inside the 3 line. Too much standing around waiting to shoot 3s.
Any word if Grandison will be able to play next week?

+10 foul disparity, +13 FT disparity and Iowa shot 25-27 from the line. They ejected the fucking strength and conditioning coach.

Iowa's fans probably still think the refs were against them somehow.

We are 5-4 in our last 9 games.

I am not going to blame any specific players. Plenty of that to go around.
We are not playing well overall, and the rotations and adjustments by staff are not working.

Hopefully the days off will be a reset.

I get jumped on if I comment on coaching. The guys have to make shots and get stops. Staff can't be blamed for missing FTs, open looks, and poor decisions.


Nobody on staff or the guys on court are doing their job right now. We need to pull it together.


That said, the BT looks like shit overall right now other than Iowa.
This MSU vs Wisky game is peach basket shit.

Our first half makes us look like an offensive juggernaut compared to Wisky vs Sparty.

Nonetheless, I don't know how much time we had the lead after 6-2 but it sure didn't seem like much.
I would say Woodson got the best of the coaching battle.
Hopefully we got it out of our system in short order. All teams are 0-0 going into the tourney.
