Got plenty of good looks throughout the game but their intensity and length on D clearly had us sped up.
Our three point shooting prowess early is kind of a double edged sword now. Players that haven’t been shooting well at all lately still have a bright green light. So then we go away from Kofi when we have a clear advantage there.
But it’s also hard to have them pass up clean looks from three to feed the post when the guys shooting them have shown they can do so at a good clip. And three is still more than two.
Brad has his work cut out for him down the stretch.
What is Belo’s role? How does he define that and rein him in without neutering him? He needs to improve now that he can practice and do strength and conditioning.
What offensive and defensive wrinkles can we work in assuage some of the issues we’ve seen of late? Cut back on the threes and try to get to the rim more? Is this viable with our stable of midget guards? They showed signs tonight but went away from it.
Who, besides RJ, can break out?
I wouldn’t hate to see some zone worked in against lengthy teams like Rutgers or Maryland that aren’t lights out from three. Like Holtmann does for the first couple of ball rotations in a given possession and then switch back to man.
I’d like to see the ball move more quickly at times when the defense is putting a ton of pressure on the ball. We seem to hold on and survey forever which gives the defense time to recover and also keeps them from getting tired.
Kofi needs to be more decisive when he gets the ball. I know he needs to see whether the double is coming or not, but he takes so long that the double is already there and he gets stripped or stacked or has a hard time throwing it out. This is the scouting of the great coaches in the B1G at work. He just needs to develop a better understanding of where everyone is when he catches the ball.
