Hadn’t we cut it to 10 with plenty of time left when RJ stole the ball under the basket and didn’t convert? He had Trent WTFO on the wing. He throws it out and Trent knocks it down and it’s a 7 point game, all the momentum, and a stunned crowd. Instead he forces it over 2 guys, misses it, Rutgers rebounds and comes down and scores. That was it.

That was the moment for me as well.  The kid played really well but missed this chance.

I was surprised, when I looked back at my photos, to find that he had a pretty clean look at the bucket. But the angle was bad.

Eh, game was nowhere near as competitive as the final score shows. We decided to finally show up in the last 5 minutes with a garbage time run straight out of the John Groce years. Rutgers whipped our asses up and down the floor pretty much all game long.

It was only competitive from Rutgers standpoint, as stated, IF ILLINI would have shot 1/3 of 3's in we win regardless of how well Rutgers played. Simple math really.
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
