Coach Underwhelm strikes again…

Makes ya want to believe it, then let’s ya down at the end…

Good thing I turned it off at halftime…
You never did turn the game off, loser idiot.

Here comes all the “moral victory” speeches from the posters…

“Well it was a good 2nd half”…

Illinois basketball is like that fishing pole geico commercial…You’re almost there, you almost had it…

That’s what we are…Still zero signature wins 17 games in. Fire Coach Underwhelm…

I’ll bite. If there’s such a thing as a “good loss” this could qualify. Andre’s first game back and even though he’s a great player, it messes with the chemistry they’ve been building. Kofi had one of his worst games in an illini uniform, and Purdue got about every conceivable iffy call.

Verdonk it appears could be a usable piece. Despite Illinois not shooting particularly well and the above factors, they took a top 5 team to 2OTs in a tough matchup.

I didn’t care much for Underwood’s substitutions tbh. I’d have had Kofi back in as soon as it was tied up the first time. Damonte was on the floor way too much last 20 minutes. They weren’t getting stops, so you might as well have someone who provides more offense since they clearly needed it.

I’m not convinced you did.

That’s a good assessment. Being up two games on them and one on everybody else in the standings already was playing with house money basically. Lots of positives to draw from this. Curbelo and BVV are two of those. Kofi won’t see another front court like that all season. Bad shooting day as well.

Curbelo looked like a continuation of last year, which was nice.  About had a couple turnovers on  double teams, but he looks near deadly around the basket.  Take the good with the bad with him.  Got a lot more good than bad today.

We weren’t going undefeated. Just bounce back and win 4-5 in a row. I’m honestly not concerned about winning the Big Ten (probably the first time I’ve ever said this about a team with realistic expectations).

I just want the team to scrap, battle, and get better. Get a high seed in the tourney, and make a very deep run. If we finish 2nd in the Big Ten, don’t care.

Great game. Some questionable officiating for sure. Problem I had late was during normal Trent Time Curbelo took over then we looked really out of sync in OT2. I look forward to seeing how the team adapts now with Belo back in the lineup because as good as he was at times today it prevented Trent from doing his thing. Bad matchup for Hawkins not surprised he didn’t play. BBV was a man today.
