No one is perfect, but geez Platner knew he had these ticking time bombs.  He got exactly what he deserved.  Even the oysters are going to be done with this guy.

I’m sure he rationalized it as just a messy relationship thingy. Lots of people have messy relationship issues around consent. I’ve probably had both situations where a partner felt I was too handsy too early, and partners who dumped me because I wasn’t handsy enough for their liking. Often times caused by a reaction to the end of a previous partnership, where you compensate to match the old partners style with someone new who might not match

The Platner story doesn’t dovetail with a “little miscommunication”

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Do you wanna sound like a believable victim? Don’t say you have positive memories of a relationship, and then a few weeks later accuse that person of raping you.

Don’t want to get smeared? One piece of advice. No raping

Or have enough money to obtain NDA's
“Taking a trip? Where to?”  -“Wherever I end up, I guess. -“Man, I wish I was you." -Well, hang in there.”

Do you wanna sound like a MAGA? Tell a woman accusing someone of rape that she just regretted having sex with someone after the fact so makes up a rape story.

Key word: accusing. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, but being consistent helps you look more credible.

I don’t put anything past the Democratic establishment these days.

And I don’t think “regret” is the impetus here. Again, I’m not saying it didn’t happen (also allowing for the possibility it didn’t happen the way she said it did); but it’s fair to question her story, and the timing is let’s say, suspicious.

What happens if a NYT writer asks, early in an interview, "Were there positive memories of the relationship ? "

"In interviews with The New York Times on Wednesday, several women did just that, describing Mr. Platner as a fun and caring partner, and saying they felt safe with him."

The warning signs were there with Platner.  The tattoo, offensive Reddit posts and complete lack of experience.  Many chose to ignore or rationalize it.  To her credit AOC never got behind this guy.

Now he’s dragging out his official exit to stay politically relevant.  What a dick.

Or maybe he’s trying to make sure the will of Mainers is prioritized. Should he drop out? Probably. Should he use his position to make sure his replacement reflects what he ran on? I see zero issue with that.

He sounds like a MAGA plant.

Dumb and floundering in the face of crisis.  He is irrelevant now.  Let him fester with the shit he has brought on himself.

I respectfully disagree. I think there’s a good deal of evidence there are establishment shenanigans going on here. And I think he should leverage his position to have input to his replacement.
