I get concerns and maybe being scared of an early exit from the NCAA tourney, but what Underwood has done this quickly is actually quite remarkable. Just a S16 this year and I’m happy. The goal is to get a chance every year to have success in the tourney and he’s doing that.

Look at Frank’s 10 years at South Carolina.  I doubt many Illini fans would take that. And Underwood obviously hasn’t had even that success in the tourney.

Year three we were a game back of first in B1G. Red hot going into the cancelled tourney. 

We actually won it last year if using normal metrics.

Shared it this year and have tie breaker. 

We add four more top 100 players for next season. Will probably get at least one difference maker in the portal. Kofi probably won’t be back, but you never know.

What a failure.

Oh wait, you’re the guy who said Curbelo would transfer if he didn’t play by the Arizona game.

Facts are that Underwood lost 20+ games a year without Kofi.

This year, the team should probably be better than what it is considering you have Kofi surrounded by a bunch of experienced guards.

Next year will be a completely new team and honestly without Kofi, Underwood has shown himself to be a very mediocre high D1 coach. He was mediocre in his 1 year at Oklahoma State, awful his first 2 years at Illinois, then he got Kofi and things changed. 

In fact, to draw an Illini football parallel, Underwood may end up being similar to Ron Turner. And Kofi= Kittner.  Take away the stud QB or stud Center, and there’s really nothing that has been built

Other than offense is half of the game, it looks like KenPom has us #20 in offensive efficiency and #29 in defensive efficiency.
Our offensive efficiency could possibly be higher if Trent, for one, didn't have to work as hard as he does on defense.

Yes, he took over an empty cupboard and immediately refilled it, completely turning our program around in 3 years.
