No Illini fan should ever bitch about fouls given that Kofi is rarely ever in foul trouble. He's one of the most protected players in college basketball.  You cant tell me a big like that, who bangs constantly when he gets the ball, hardly ever commits any actual fouls.

There isn’t another player in college basketball that gets fouled more than Kofi. He gets the shit beat out of him every night. Even the announcers talk about how they can hear him being slapped and hacked in packed loud arenas and they aren’t being called. And he has pretty much always played super disciplined defense. He isn’t being protected, he just makes remarkably few silly fouls. He moves his feet, walls up, and stays vertical. One of the best things he does is realize when he’s beat. Most big guys try to come from behind and make a play on the ball and it’s usually called a foul. He very rarely does that. The couple of lapses he had against Purdue really called attention to the fact that it’s so rare for him to get in foul trouble.

Kofi really got frustrated early in the Purdue game and let his emotions get the best of him. That’s been exceedingly rare in his career here. Remember a couple years ago TJD dunked on him and he used that for motivation? I suspect he’ll come out with a chip on his shoulder Tuesday night. Purdue will surely get some home cooking so he’ll have to temper his emotions but I expect he’ll have a lot better game than he did in Champaign.

Wasn't he maybe dealing with concussion symptoms from the practice before that game? His judgement was off. He wasn't right.
He has been giving new assholes out since his return.

Need to wipe the smirk off of Edey's face.
And Williams is a fucking showboat with holding the ball out with one hand waiting for a cutter.

Kofi played 35 minutes at Indiana and had 1 foul called on him the whole game.

I’ve seen many times that Kofi is over the back on rebounds, or just bangs into a guy dribbling when he posts up, and is never called for foul. He may not commit many dumb fouls on defense but on offense the refs let him do whatever he wants.  Illini fans have complained for years about Sean May bulldozing Augustine in the title game and Kofi does that routinely.

Given the history of Illini bigs always in foul trouble i find it crazy that one of the biggest in history and the most physical has one of the lowest foul rates per minute of anyone.

There have been a handful of times this year where I thought Kofi might get called for lowering his shoulder and wasn’t and then there have been a few times he has… But it’s not that frequent that he obviously fouls on offense. Someone is obviously upset the Illini put it on his Hosiers in Bloomington.
