I think it’s time Gonzaga joins an actual conference. It’s long overdue. At least join the PAC-12 to see what they’d do. I can guarantee they wouldn’t dominate the way they do throughout the season. Even in the PAC-12.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s a joke that they are still in the WCC.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I'm sure they match up really well in all the other sports the PAC12 plays.

Isn’t ND in the ACC for basketball only?

But you’re right, Gonzaga really doesn’t fit the part of a PAC school at all in a way that you could argue ND fits the ACC or B1G.

Gonzaga is truly in a unicorn type situation. If they leave for the PAC and start losing 4-6 conference games a year, then they aren’t a perennial one seed by virtue of a weak ass conference slate that artificially boosts them while teams in legit conferences are beating each other up. Then the brand suffers and maybe they become an also-ran.

They could probably earn a lot more money from their brand in a better conference. But man, having watched more PAC games than usual this winter, it’s amazing to me how depressing and shitty the atmosphere is considering the traditions and history some of these schools have. The crowd at St Mary’s was better than most PAC games I’ve seen.

The other side effect of the weak conference is they get a lot more opportunity to rest guys and get/stay healthy before the tourney. Could also argue that they aren’t as tuned up though because of level of comp, but conference tourney probably helps with that.

Yeah they could easily join for basketball only. I wouldn’t see a benefit to Gonzaga for this as their perception is that of a blue blood currently. Why would they? There’s only disadvantages for them honestly. I think the PAC-12 would like it to boost their conference.

I just think it’s shit that they have such an easy road every year. Credit to them for getting their program to where it’s at, but once it’s a power, staying there isn’t too difficult considering their competition. They’d get beat up more for sure being in a stronger conference. This for sure would give them more losses and beat them up more come tourney play.

I'd be more open to the "easy road" argument if they didn't also have a ton of tournament success lately.  They have two S16's, two E8's, and two title game appearances in the last 6 tournaments.

Wisconsin under Gard is like the lowish ceiling Gene Keady teams of the 80s. Quietly winning/splitting Big Ten titles when even your own fans know you’re not the best team in the league. They still have two tough matchups with @Rutgers tonight and home against Purdue.

If we win out, Wisconsin loses tonight but beats Purdue, we share title with Wisconsin and get #1 seed in BTT with the tiebreaker….unless dark horse Brutus wins out, which is a realistic possibility with a trip to Maryland and three at home (Nebraska, MSU, and UM) to finish. Then they’d have the tiebreaker on us. They split this season with Wisconsin.

I think.
Root for PU.
I think.
If Wisco wins out, they're #1 seed. If PU beats the Hoosiers and we win out, we get #3 seed.
If PU and Ill win out, we get the #2 seed and would face a 7 or 10 seed. Wisco gets the #3 seed and plays #6.
Bucknuts stay at #4.
If the standings stay as is, Sparty would be #6 and Rutgers would probably be #7.
Some head to heads can muck things up tho.

Baylor has lost 2 key guys and still looks like a team that could make FF.
Their intensity and athleticism is ridiculous.

The lessons we learned from Baylor's intensity and athleticism in the game last year carried over pretty well for the rest of our season.
I'm not sure that's there this year.

Yeah, the last two years we have improved down the stretch in terms of toughness which is Underwood's strength.
Not their yet.
Maybe they find it in next two weeks.

Oregon St went from an Elite 8 run last year to 3-24 this year. How did it turn into a dumpster fire that quickly?

Despite his name, Tinkle can coach.  They'll be back.
