I mean, he's talking the truth, the players that are here aren't getting the job done and we need better recruits if we want to win... thats not throwing anyone under the bus... he's not specifically mentioning anyone by name

What he said about the O Line was questionable. Of course the O-Line 2 Deep is trash, and has clearly been the most disappointing unit this season.

I’d be more concerned if he wasn’t pointing out the talent/size disparity and the fact he needs to recruit a lot better in order to compete for championships.

Yeah, but imagine going to practice today and giving your all for a coach who just said his team is basically trash. It’s true, the talent isn’t good. But this is shameful behavior for a coach.

well we have the most super and seniors in all of college football so I'm guessing they'll get over it or maybe try a little harder /shrug

Well “negative recruiting tactics” are often talked about. Doesn’t apply to the Illini? Would you want to play for a guy who fully blames the players?

That clip is completely taken out of context. Seems the players are ok with him and what was said. BB basically states that there’s only 3 underclassmen on the roster and none of them have been cracking the two-deep rotation. More directed towards the depth that the last coaching staff didn’t recruit at all.

It sounds to me like he's more throwing Lovie under the bus for shit recruiting. I would not have called out the O-line like that or at least couched it with praise that they're working their asses off or something.

Current players aren't going to admit to the press that the coach holding their scholarship future is an asshole, but I don't find most of what he said that out of bounds.
