Three-star Class of 2024 forward Jason Jakstys announced a verbal commitment to Illinois on Sunday. 247Sports ranks the 6-foot-10, 205-pound Yorkville (Ill.) product as the No. 47 power forward in the Class of 2024 and the No. 7 senior in the state of Illinois.

    Jakstys also holds scholarship offers from Illinois State, Eastern Illinois, Boston, Valparaiso, Drake, Indiana State, Lehigh, Loyola (Md.), Penn, St. Thomas and Yale.

Have seen a lot of his highlights. Kid has ball skills. Nice change from the athletic guys who can't play basketball very well yet we have been bringing in. Could be a nice rotation guy down the road.
He actually hit a three off of a left handed dribble in the first 30 seconds.
