Would be good to keep Storrs. Bass might also be a decent combo and has good size.
Like them both.

Nice to see the new staff able to line up a bunch of visits with some pretty good players.

I agree, I just wish they’d get this third assistant in place so the recruits could potentially meet who it will be.

Unless they’ve already got something up their sleeve, this makes no sense to not have the other staff member in place for visits.

Illinois is the 15th state to pass NIL legislation. If Governor J.B. Pritzker signs the bill into law, Illinois would become the sixth state to make its NIL legislation effective July 1, though Texas passed similar legislation, which is awaiting Governor Greg Abbott’s signature. Eight other states passed NIL laws that go in effect between 2022 and 2025.

Hopefully this should give us an advantage in recruiting. Players aren’t gonna wanna go to schools in State’s where it’s not legal....

I wanna believe that, buuuutttttt, nah lol

Yeah, he is ranked #149 composite right now after transferring and having a good junior year. He averaged 11 points  game. Not exactly a McDAA candidate, but looks like he could be good player.
There is zero reason to believe he would have ditched us if our staff and performance were relatively stable.
The others also look like players-  Bass (ranked #217 composite), Goode (#99), Podz (#158) and Melendez (#98). None of these guys are future NBA guys, but one can build a nice team with them over time with a well constructed roster.

Of course EVERY recruit we get "is blowing up", or "was blowing up" and our staff were amazingly only ones in country who could see that and our players are ALWAYS much better than their rankings. LOL.

Nobody is in panic mode- but the lack of a settled staff dragging out is not a good thing. No other way to spin it.
I would not be surprised if we lose somebody else.
Of course, we may get somebody new if we get an assistant with some players that were connected to him.

Need to get this taken care of.

Storr announcing an OV to Kansas.

Gee, I would hope we can compete for a 3 star with a school in deep shit about to get sanctioned.
But maybe not. Adidas might pay him a visit.

The ncaa is actually going to do something? Storr sure doesn’t have a low three star offer list.

It's nothing special. He is a Top 150 or NR recruit and has a mix of various high major and low major offers.

Just picked up an offer from Grand Canyon. Kansas has some of  worst guard play in B12. I am sure they will offer.
Sorry, I don't make the ratings, and they usually are on target. He may very well end up in Top 100.

But, yeah, if we get him then he is next Devin Booker.  ::)

Just finished watching the Obama/Anderson Cooper special.  It was incite-full for sure but my biggest take-away was the Illini pennant hanging on the wall behind the group discussion.  Gotta be useful for recruiting!

Could be. He's a wing.

And, importantly, left-handed.

I doubt today's Supreme Court ruling helps Illinois as there is no way Guenther Jr. is going, or going to be allowed, to start shelling out cash. I am guessing the rich will just get richer, except for an upstart here and there who is flush with cash from some tycoon who is pissed he can't buy a pro team.

The court decision is long overdue, and it's going to cause chaos.  The rift between men’s football/basketball vs everyone else will widen even further.  The whole system needs to be scrapped or reimagined.
