Chet is no doubt strictly by the book.
That is why he has never landed top level recruits in 9 years.

I am guessing Alexander is also.
He has never recruited at P5 level.

Both good guy gym rats in a cesspool of sharks.

The ceiling is probably Top 100-200 kids.
We will be OK, but need to get lucky and have a few outperform their rankings.

IlliniChief will report that they each go to work everyday, have cell phones,  turn on their computer, answer texts and emails,are doing amazing, and are really working it and showing him something.

We need a lead recruiter.

Did we get his analysis on the wetness of water yet?

I think Chet understands the game. I think he could play it if that were the goal. Certainly not as productively as O.

But I'm pretty sure Guenther Lite is not genuinely interested in success.

I am extremely happy with the first two AC hires. We lost three because we chose high impact fast turnaround type hires and it was a huge success. We now can play the long game from a position of strength. We have outstanding guards,solid post players and versatile wings available for the next two seasons. There has been minimum upheaval so far and I have faith in JW and Coach Underwood to steady the ship.
Illinois must be weighing the top options, trying to lure their top pick or possibly waiting for a pro to exit the playoffs.
