We don't even know who all we might have gained/will now lose.

The damage of losing OA can't be overstated, no matter what spark says.

Antigua was only on loan to us while he rehabbed his image after the South Florida disaster.

We somehow managed to pry Chin away from UIC.

Storr is blowing up. It was going to be tough to keep him committed regardless of staff changes. But beyond Storr, replacing what OA brought to the program is going to be difficult if not impossible. That’s the major setback.

Yeah, he is ranked #149 composite right now after transferring and having a good junior year. He averaged 11 points  game. Not exactly a McDAA candidate, but looks like he could be good player.
There is zero reason to believe he would have ditched us if our staff and performance were relatively stable.
The others also look like players-  Bass (ranked #217 composite), Goode (#99), Podz (#158) and Melendez (#98). None of these guys are future NBA guys, but one can build a nice team with them over time with a well constructed roster.

Of course EVERY recruit we get "is blowing up", or "was blowing up" and our staff were amazingly only ones in country who could see that and our players are ALWAYS much better than their rankings. LOL.

Nobody is in panic mode- but the lack of a settled staff dragging out is not a good thing. No other way to spin it.
I would not be surprised if we lose somebody else.
Of course, we may get somebody new if we get an assistant with some players that were connected to him.

Need to get this taken care of.

Should have a yes or no from Huss in a couple days. If he can't sell his own family on the move, we probably don't want him.

Well, Omaha is admittedly a nicer metro area probably than C-U which is basically a college town in rural Illinois.
If they are both Creighton grads they must have a lot of strong ties.
My guess is probably not even if it is double his salary. Creighton has no doubt offered him a nice raise.

And he is likely starting to show up on head coaching candidate short lists in a lot of searches. He doesn't need to come to Illinois to get there.

So the Storrs kid...

It might be related to the assistants, but kinda not. So for whatever reason they (storrs side)  didn’t know we were getting the Podz kid. I’m not sure why they didn’t know that (it was pretty obvious?!). So they didn’t like when he committed, it’s crowded now a bit

Then Chin ghosted them on his way out and ...Hulka never reached out. That didn’t go over well

No idea why he would have trusted guys half out the door to keep working , he should have been on top of it. But what do I know

Yeah. That doesn't sound good if they didn't attend to all of these incoming guys.

Seems like all three of Podz, Storrs, and Bass are primarily shooting/wing guards. And we then have three guys who are wing/small 4 type guys in Goode and Melendez and Hutcherson.
We might get lucky and have Curbelo for 2 more years. So in '22 season there would be six guys wanting PT for three slots.
I was hoping that Bass or Storrs might be able to play some lead guard if Curbelo leaves after '21 season.
I think Bass is next guy who could have second thoughts. He was OA guy I think and may want more immediate PT.

Of course this year it is very crowded for the three new guys now that Damonte and Trent are coming back and Grandison is still here- and of course Plummer is bringing his 3ball roadshow here.
Not going to be much time for Podz,Melendez, or Goode really, especially if Hutch is actually a player. We have 8 guys for 3 positions.

They need to be recruiting a point guard for '22 class hard.

Lol nice job, Brad. I suppose he was too busy to reach out.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.
