Jereme Richmond was the #1 freshman in the country when he committed around 2007. Granted, he didn’t get there till 2010. But id say he counts.

Since this kid hasn’t actually played at Illinois yet, you could actually count Eric Gordon in 2006 (until this commit actually plays here). I realize counting Gordon is a backdoor win in this argument, but at one time Eric Gordon and our new commitment were both at this same point, commitments.

Right, which if he were the only one, the post would be correct. It’s a little short of that standard. Now it did take every bit of 4 years to get one on campus.
