Maybe the Bears should throw a fat payday at Sean Payton? Dude has been solid for years, this year has started 4 QBs, has had all kinds of Covid issues, and still fields a much better team than the one he grew up rooting for.

Payton's name is always bought up during Bears coaching searches. It never gets past the message board pipe dream stage though.

Obviously, I’d love to have him; but the game he called tonight was truly Nagyesque. Sure, they were in a tough spot, but he did nothing to help his rookie quarterback tonight. I kept waiting for someone to pull at his face and reveal Matt Nagy underneath.

The Saints recently extended him to 2026. Hard to see the Bears giving up assets they can’t afford to get him. Won’t rule it out, but it’s a long shot unless he can somehow get out of that contract.

I think Mike Tomlin is a long shot, but maybe slightly more realistic. I’d be thrilled with either, but both will probably stay where they are.

I’m starting to think Doug Pederson might be the hire, and may be the best guy we could realistically get. Wouldn’t have to overhaul everything, and he’s probably the better version of Matt Nagy. I wouldn’t be thrilled with the hire, but I wouldn’t hate it.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s a great year to be looking for a HC unless there’s a diamond in the rough you stumble into.

A guy I’ve always wanted for the Bears is Bill Cowher. I liked the idea a lot better about the time Lovie was fired though. Not sure he has the desire, and worried about whether or not he’s been out of the game too long. He’s not that old. Worked with Dick Vermeil. He’s definitely someone I would contact if I was George McCaskey. He would be an enormously popular hire I would think. A smarter Mike Ditka.

RIP Jeff Dickerson. Lost his battle with cancer. I didn’t even know he was in that bad of shape.

His son has lost both parents to cancer in a span of two years. My heart breaks for him. Fuck cancer.

Had apparently taken a leave of absence in the last couple of weeks after learning colon cancer had spread.

Heartbreaking. Life can be so cruel. Can’t imagine losing both your parents at a young age.
