I’m really impressed with Frazier so far. His tenaciousness has always been evident, but now he gets to sell a hot brand captained by a fairly competent head coach. He seems to be making the most of it early on.
If Gentry was truly the internal cancer as has been rumored then Alexander sliding into his spot is likely addition by subtraction. And his supposedly wondrous strategy and analytics acumen weren’t that evident either.
Antigua simply can’t be replaced by perhaps any other available individual in the game. Anderson brings in marginal recruiting cred but his developmental work with pro talent is a big selling point. I think he’ll be like Frazier in that he’ll have a lot more success selling the Illinois brand in Chicago than he did at other stops.
This group won’t have near the flash that OA and Chin brought to the table but they’re going to make players better and grind in every aspect of their jobs. Obvious question mark is whether they’ll be able to bring guys like Ayo/Kofi/Curbelo into the fold. Hope they can. Getting Epps was pretty big imo.
