I don’t see any problem with having more secure elections. Why shouldn’t you required an actual pen and ink signature?!

Gotta love Stacey Abrams and her bullshit spin. She definitely doesn’t have any type of agenda 😂🙄
Because FOX News told me so…

First, all those new costly rules fixed a problem that did not even exist. All the law did was create more hassles for voters and county clerks. Also an avenue to sabotage voter rolls.

Making it harder usually reduces turnout. Lower turnout usually benefits Republicans. So voter suppression is in their interest.  If minorities are fighting back and voting anyway, good for them!

Second, what's wrong with an electronic signature? They are legally binding in all 50 states. Even checking an "I agree" box is generally as binding as a pen and ink signature.

From Georgia Public Broadcasting, with NPR/PBS logos, regarding missing chain of custody for absentee ballots

"Georgia's most populous county is home to the heavily Democratic city of Atlanta — and a history of problems and shortcomings with election administration.

"Absentee drop boxes were authorized by an emergency State Election Board rule last year, which included the requirement of 24/7 video surveillance of the boxes as well as the transfer forms filled out by a two-person collection team."

"Grady County's registrar sent an email to the state saying there are no forms because "I am the only one in my office, and I was the only one who emptied the drop box every day." Taylor County's registrar said she did not keep track and asked "How am I going to be able to do these forms?"

[she] asked "How am I going to be able to do these forms?"

She ain't seen nothing yet. The new legislation gave her a bunch more hoops to jump  through.

"No Fraud ..  Problems With ... Process

That sums it up. They had no problems with people voting who shouldn't have. Just largely unavoidable or moot procedural issues. Republican solution: add more requirements and snipe hunts.

Let's only let Trump vote. He announces the winner on TV, live. Now THAT is secure.

You figure out a way, or go learn how to code or flip burgers somewhere.
Same with the other guy.
And if whomever supervises them doesn't address the issues, learn to code or flip burgers.
Etc.

Giving people impossible tasks looks a lot like planned failure. Either that, or stupidity?

Make compliance with procedures impossible, then say see, absentee voting fails.

There are 159 counties in Ga.
1 was cited as 'why should I do it that way ? ' Not as it's too burdensome.

Not how I read it. Understaffed and assigned a bunch of redundant paperwork. Nice attempt to downplay thought.  It is still about process, not about fraud.

Not how I read it. Understaffed and assigned a bunch of redundant paperwork. Nice attempt to downplay thought.  It is still about process, not about fraud.
"The Star News made an initial open records request for the transfer forms on December 1, 2020.
At the time, Fulton County officials said they believed the responsive records could be provided by January 19, 2021."
https://georgiastarnews.com/2021/05/22/six-months-after-the-election-fulton-county-says-more-time-is-needed-to-produce-complete-chain-of-custody-documents-for-absentee-ballot-drop-boxes/

2 more requests were sent to Fulton County Registration and Elections for documents required by the State Board of Elections. 6 months after the initial open records request was sent, Georgia Star News still did not have the documents for a Presidential election.
This isn't an understaffing or redundant paperwork issue.

'If Fulton County is unable to find the handful of transfer forms, they could be sent to the State Election Board for investigation, just as in Coffee, Grady and Taylor counties — and the forms have no effect on the authenticity of ballots or count of the election. Every ballot that is returned is tied to a voter, matched with an application for a ballot, and authenticated by poll workers before counting."

Oh, this is such a bunch of horseshit.

Dude, Republicans are trying to kick people off the voter rolls for two decades. And by and large, it’s been an effective tactic. There’s not doubt this affected the governor’s race in Georgia a few years back. Probably changed the presidential election in 2000.

I guess you can always count on “The Guardian” to give accurate and non-biased information, huh.

I’d trust The Guardian over most news sources. Certainly over Fox or Newsmax.
