It was, but I think the debate is whether they knew it was at the time.  Watch the video, it’s excruciating.  Had to do a vault on a broken ankle that forced her to retire soon after.  She didn’t want to but was encouraged to by her coach Bela Karolyi - an infamously psychologically abusive coach whose ranch many of the assaults perpetrated by Biles’ abuser occurred at.

This is the atmosphere and support structure available to these women for so long and we have people behind keyboards calling them soft.  Unreal.

I also think playing the mental health card after fucking up is kind of a bad look whether that’s what’s going on or not.
