"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Tempo probably saw this after he posted!

Golfer Tiger Woods was arrested Friday afternoon following a rollover crash involving two vehicles on a small two-lane road, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office at a news conference.

I had just woken up from a short nap and wasn’t quite all the way with it yet.

Now we know why Tempo hates democracy...

https://www.axios.com/2026/03/31/democracy-social-media-heavy-users?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&stream=top

Heavy social media users are less likely to think democracy is the best form of government and more likely to stray from democratic norms, according to a newly released study from the Charles F. Kettering Foundation and Gallup.

I want more democracy, not less. Try again.

Trump never won half or more of the popular vote.

Trump received more votes than anybody else but he didn't receive enough votes.  :D

RIF: More people voted for someone other than Trump.

"Donald Trump declared on Election Night, as votes were still being counted, that “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate.” Many media outlet echoed his claim by describing his victory as a “landslide,” “resounding,” and “sweeping.” But was it?"

The question appears to ask whether Trump was the first president (i.e., the eventual winner of the election) who received the most popular votes in his election but still did not win the popular vote. That phrasing describes an impossibility: No candidate can simultaneously receive the most popular votes and not win the popular vote.

I don't have any idea what that even means. The electoral college chooses the President. Trump won enough electors.

The popular vote is only relevant in that it reflects the strength of the winner's popularity, or lack thereof.

The 'democracy' concerns relate to Trump grossly exaggerating his mandate, overstepping his constitutional authority,  acting on extreme form of the unitary executive doctrine, etc.

democracy = self rule or majority rule?

Woke AI Response

Democracy is best understood as a system of majority rule tempered by minority rights. While it relies on majority voting (50% + 1) to make decisions, it is not mere "rule by the mob." True democracy protects minority rights, ensures political equality, and upholds the rule of law to prevent the tyranny of 51% of the population over the remaining 49%.

Key aspects of modern democracy include:

*Majority Rule: The fundamental method for making binding decisions, allowing the majority to decide among options.

*Minority Rights: Safeguards for dissenters to ensure their rights are protected, allowing them to compete in future elections and potentially become the majority.

*Self-Rule: Popular sovereignty, where government legitimacy is derived from the consent of the governed.

*Rule of Law: Constitutional limitations that prevent the majority from violating fundamental human rights.

In essence, democracy is a governing system designed for the will of the people, where majority decision-making operates within a framework of justice that protects all citizens.
