The narrator doesn’t have the most engaging manner but this is a pretty accurate and wild breakdown of the evolution of the relationship between late night comedy show hosts and Trump and how it’s become their entire purpose.
GMFB. Making jokes about politicians is part of a long tradition of late-night TV hosts using satire and political humor to comment on current events and public figures.
I remember Johnny Carson spoofing Ronald Reagan in a "Who's on First?" parody and joking about the antics of Jimmy Carter's brother, Billy. Carson was particularly fixated on Gary Hart's extramarital affairs. Some pundits believe it contributed to the decline of Hart's political career. Chevy Chase's portrayal of President Gerald Ford as a clumsy oaf reinforced a public perception of the former football star as a klutz, despite his athleticism.
The problem for you is that Trump's presidency provides late-night hosts with endless fodder. Trump’s also massively obsessed with late night talk shows and the hosts know it. Maybe he should STFU occasionally instead of flooding the zone.
Trump and his MAGA cult need to grow up. It’s part of the job.
