Here - this is my dog. I trained him to not bother me, ever. What's the point.

Tempo has the only point - you get it for your kid, who wants the dog, but isn't mature enough yet to take care of the dog so you take care of the dog because you love your kid.

9-10 year olds are plenty capable of taking care of a single domesticated house animal. Hell, it’s common for them to be primary caretakers of horses and livestock. Millions of 4H kids do it every day.

The pattern is that Tempo’s kid doesn’t seem to have any responsibilities and spends the vast majority of his time getting screen time.

I get things are chaotic from what I understand but the dangers of letting electronics raise your kid while not expecting anything from them are well-documented.
