They're not using her in advertising because she wins at the Olympics.  They're using her because winning at the Olympics made her famous.

Subway paid Pele for ads in the 2010's.  Was it because he was gonna go kill it in the EPL or whatever this year?  They still pay Michael Phelps.  Is it because they thought he'd win gold in 2021?

Uber Eats isn't paying Simone Biles to compete in the 2020 (2021) Olympics.  That isn't what they pay her for, flat out.

Yes, I've mentioned how fucked up and toxic that is.  Next time someone in your life mentions that they are having mental health issues, just tell them you don't believe them.  And consider the differences in the pressures they and you face, and the pressures Simone Biles faced.

I will certainly look at the context in which the claim was raised and not blindly assume they were correct. I have 2 older boys so I hear enough whiny assed excuses for why things don't get done on a daily basis already.
