Been awhile since we had a dumbass cyclist story here...
From today's Tribune fish wrap/bird cage liner:

A vehicle struck a bicyclist who was riding against a traffic signal Wednesday night on Grand Avenue at DuSable Lake Shore Drive in the Streeterville neighborhood, Chicago police said.

About 8:35 p.m., a 47-year-old woman driving a 2020 Honda van hit a 32-year-old man who was riding his bicycle westbound on Grand Avenue, according to a police notification. The bicyclist did not stop for traffic at a red light, police said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital by the Chicago Fire Department in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported. The Major Accidents Unit is investigating.

No citations were issued.

Love the traffic-calming measures (roundabouts, road diets, speed bumps, etc.) that more and more communities are implementing to encourage slower driving and bring down car deaths.

Driving the AggressiveSon to school, saw a guy riding a bike with short pants and a short sleeved t-shirt. It was 27 with Real Feel at 16. I said, "Look at this guy wearing short pants and a short sleeved t-shirt." When passed him, I said, "At least he is wearing a hat under his helmet."  The AggressiveSon responds, "He his a gym teacher." I said, "Well, I hope he sets a good example and follows the Rules of the Road."

Of fucking course not. The fucker ran every stop sign. I stopped at a stop sign, ready to turn right with my signal on, when he was behind me and said, "I better wait, because I know he is going to run this stop sign even though I am here first." Of course he ran it.

Fucking adult bicyclists are the worst people on Earth.
