I was pretty sure Kofi was coming back to college. The Kentucky thing has me worried though.

BU had better come up with a game plan to pitch to Kofi to get him more midrange opportunities.

Follow the money.

Follow the money.

I am sure that these big donor programs will reroute the money via business fronts and already have them lined up. Kofi will be advertising for horse stables in Kentucky for $100k this year.

I don't buy the Kentucky option for Kofi....sure OA is there, but they have no less than 4-6 forward/center types...Brooks/Ware/Toppin/Tshiebwe/ and others. Both Kofi/Oscar would be trying to "secure" a better place in the upcoming draft. Oscar presumably would want to show more to the scouts as far as range/ability outside the paint....Kofi has already stated that is his intentions as well.

I just don't buy that this is an "ideal" place for Kofi to land just because of OA, he still wants to be able to show scouts what he can do outside of the paint, and with Oscar the more mobile of the two, well I think Kofi is stuck there.

He would be in the same situation here with the ILLINI, with or without Dawson (whom we hope to get), however the difference here is the brand is already formulated and he can get local $$$ for appearances/likeness usage etc.

There may be a better "ideal" location than Illinois as well, just don't think it is kenUckky is all.

You're assuming that he thinks the head coach who got his ass whipped by Porter Moser can coach him up.

Obviously, there is the issue that the new KY assistants apparently did jack shit too in that Loyola game, but I'm sure Kofi may not see it that way.

Who do we have that can actually coach a team that can beat Loyola?

Supposedly Alexander did good work last summer.
Kofi was pretty nondescript until he got dunked on by Jackson Davis and then became much more aggressive in finishing and roll and catch plays in last part of year.

Agreed, the Asst didn't do much, don't see Kofi as persuaded just because he likes OA is all....maybe he stays maybe he doesn't. Time is running out though.

"I think I'm ready for the next level, but I wasn't happy with the input I was getting from NBA teams," Cockburn said ... "I didn't want to settle. I'm going to return for another year, raise my game and improve my draft stock."

He said the feedback from NBA teams was that they want to see more of his perimeter skill, be it his jump shot or passing ability.

"NBA teams are going to see my midrange game next year and my playmaking," Cockburn said.

Potential problem? Does Kofi think he has perimeter skills, but was not allowed to use them. Parallels AM's complaint that he was not allowed to create.

Insider at tos claims OA told Kofi to stay at Illinois. Maybe UK doesn't  really want him?

Cockburn was the No. 1 pick-and-roll finisher in college basketball last season, according to Synergy, leading the country with 78 slam dunks.

That is what made him  first-team All-Big Ten and a second-team All-American. I think he can return to Illinois and get better at passing out of the post. Perhaps the right training program might help improve his lane agility scores. If he wants to showcase his untapped ballhandling and three point shooting skills, let him go join Miller at LSU.

He was good on roll and catch and finishes when we could get him the ball. Good on putbacks. Ran floor OK. But that is against smaller weaker college players.

He had one assist after December.
5 all year.

He didn't make a shot past 2 feet all year.

He is a bear on skates 4 feet away from basket trying to guard anyone.

Any NBA guard will love him on a switch and he is fried chicken.

This Kofi thing has absolutely nothing to do with basketball.

Has everything to do with leeches looking for the quickest and biggest $$

That is true, but not how you framed it. OA and Brad discussed a hands off policy on all incoming recruits and current players. OA running afoul of Illinois would not be in his best interests…there’s a closet he left behind
