Agreed. We can play “what if” all day long, but the circumstances are way different here than there. Even more so at that time. I don’t think a guy like Altman gets the recruits here like he can at a place like Oregon. Nike has a whole lot to do with his success there imo.
But honestly, who the fuck cares. Hypotheticals are pointless. It didn’t happen. Move on. Damn this is so redundant. And somehow Tempo is gonna try to claim he’s “right” somehow in this thread eventually.
No, there’s no way to prove that; but it’s a reasonable assumption. It’s funny how you always try to make everything about me. I was just basically giving a cap-tip to Altman for having a solid career, and pointing out how close we might have been to living a pretty different Illini experience the past 15 years. Of course, I can’t prove anything, but it likely would have been much better than ‘07-‘18. Altman seems to be maybe a slightly lesser version of Lon Kruger, and I think that could’ve been alright.

"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.
