I pretty much only watched the Illini, didn't have time for much else, thought this was our year if some breaks went our way!  Clearly it was not haha
Well, you are known for getting all your evidence from one somewhat unreliable source and then drawing incorrect conclusions based on that flawed evidence.

So much better to draw conclusions based on political bias; then select or make up evidence that supports our conclusions. I think that might even have a name. Confirmation Bias.

I was really surprised how many analysts forgot about Baylor during the bracket release hoopla. Sure Gonzaga was undefeated and had beat some good teams early. And Illinois was on a tear and just won the BTT beating two top ten teams along the way. But man, it just seemed obvious to me that Baylor had the recipe.

Nobody forgot about them.  They simply had not been playing as well as they had before their Covid break. Were not same team. Still got 2nd seed overall and were picked by many to make title game over us.

Tonight was them at their best pre February.

This was a really weak tourney field plain and simple. Not many great teams and a lot of lackluster teams. Yeah, Gonzaga beat Kansas and West Virginia, but they weren’t exactly typical Self/Huggins world beaters, then beat nobody for 2 months. They really do need to join the PAC.

What happened to Gonfaqua tonight was the same thing that happened to Illinois only it was Baylor and normally Gonfaqua would get a pass, but not this year. Gonfaqua was supposed to win it all and came up well short for 40 minutes with it all on the line. The only thing Gonfaqua will hear for the next year is how overrated they are and that they need to join a real conference to prepare for the tourney.

We wouldn't have beaten Baylor, even tho some of the experts had us in the final.
Congrats to Custard .......
For picking Baylor in an Illini message board that he started.

OK, so they were rated as the #1 team in the country and are gonna finish 2nd.

That means they were exactly as overrated as the 2005 Illinois Fighting Illini

Well they were being hyped as a “super team.” A super team doesn’t get completely pantsed in the title game.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Shit happens. Gonzaga had a bad shooting game from three and had early game jitters.
Baylor had game earlier in tourney where they went 3-19.
They were en fuego last two games.

My guess  in 7 game series it would be a tossup.

Gonzaga had finally cut it to ten, and Baylor starts the 2nd half with a guy hitting two threes from 6 feet outside the arc. Some nights are just written a certain way.

Baylor shot 3% better from three than their season average. If one of those had missed they’d have shot below their season average from three and still won by double digits. Baylor plays exceptional defense, they made Zaga work for everything. Of course they didn’t shoot lights out. Baylor is better and it’s not really close.

On yesterday's Zoom, Shannon said "so is everyone taking Gonzaga?"

There wasn't a whole lot of response, because it's a Zoom. Maybe Richey said something about being a complete team. Kent said fatigue wouldn't be a concern.

Nobody said "Baylor is a known quantity of superior capability while the Zags have, as usual, little experience against good opponents."

To me, the analysis seemed pretty simple.
