take on the Bears situation.  Kinda long but I am taking away fault as 2/3s Bears, 1/3 Illinois.  But I could see it being more 50/50.  Either way, a disappointing cluster!

It's mostly the incompetence of the McCaskey Org. They're still operating on the mindset that taxpayers should pay for their sole business endeavor for the privilege of having their home team. They played "chicken" with IL to threaten them to give in everything.

They bought Arl. Hts. property so they COULD OWN IT ALL, Illinois agreed to pay $880M in infrastructure upgrades and it still wasn't enough, even though the team would only play @10 games/yr, theyd get all the $ from year-round concerts, etc.

It's also Chicago and Chicago pols meddling at the 11th hour and refusing to vote to keep the team IN ILLINOIS if it meant they would not be in Chicago.

Gov. was pretty accommodating, but wouldn't put a gun to taxpayers' heads after Bears still owed them $150M from their state-funded Soldier Field rehab, and didn't wanna even pay that back.

All in all, it was a negotiating disaster on all sides. And they're leaving season ticket holders who paid big for PSLs high and dry, stiffed.

Let them build it on a slag heap that was a Fed toxic Superfund clean-up site, Indiana will pay to build their stadium so they won't have to shell out $2B of their own, but Bears will own NOTHING.

Majority of current ticket holders reside in north and west suburbs, have fun getting to Hammond while 75K others are trying to at the same time.

Not our fault the team is their only business, revenue source unlike other owners.

We'll see. They're still playing chicken and bluffing to get more to stay. Fuck them, the ill will and disloyalty to their birth state we be their legacy.

I'll never attend a game there. Used to split season tickets, glad I quit after 18 years during the remodel debacle when they played at U of I for free.

It's all very disgusting.

Pretty spot on, I’d say.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I’d say Bears ownership deserves about 60% of the blame for its clumsy, heavy-handed negotiating approach.  The rest goes equally to the State of Illinois and City of Chicago.

More than 20 years ago, Richard M. Daley and the Bears ruined a meaningful memorial to U.S. soldiers who had died in combat during World War I. I also recall discussion of moving the team to the former U.S. Steel South Works site in Southeast Chicago.

If they can’t secure a public funding deal for the Arlington Heights site before the fall legislative veto session, then the team can play on top of a slag heap in Northwest Indiana.  So be it.

Forest missed through the trees....Why would any Chicago legislator vote to assist the Bear moving out of Chicago without Chicago getting anything in return?

Have to wonder what Kam Buckner and Cunningham were promised to carry the water for the Bear in Springfield.
Mark Carman: "The Whitlock!...Caleb Williams failed Wayne Whitlock." Been told I need to take my dick out my mouth so maybe I "wont [sic] sound like such a fucking faggot all the time[.]"
