I personally think the Bible has some nice parables and sayings to live by. My mom would quote little snippets like "Judge not."..,   vengeance is mine saith the Lord," or "Do unto others...,"

She would also cite Aesop's Fables; "don't cry wolf", "that's sour grapes" ...

A fun little (AI written) comparison between UAE and Iran.

See, the Islamic Republic’s entire brand is built on a single, desperate lie: “You can either be a good Muslim, or you can have nice things. You can’t have both because the nice things are poisoned by the Great Satan.”

Then the UAE shows up, sipping an iced latte, signing the Abraham Accords with Israel, and partnering with Washington. They’re proof that you can keep the faith, keep the culture, and still participate in the "Western Civilizational Package" without the universe exploding.

To Tehran, the UAE is a giant, neon-lit middle finger. Every time a new tech startup opens in Dubai, an Angel gets its wings and a Mullah loses his mind.

Iran looks at the UAE and sees a glitch in the Matrix. It’s an extension of the Western order, that place where "openness" isn't a dirty word, and "integration" isn't a conspiracy.

Because if an Arab Muslim state can be successful, modern, and friendly with the West, then the last forty years of Iranian "revolutionary" suffering have been a pointless, self-inflicted wound.

And nothing stings more than watching your neighbor throw a block party with the people you’ve spent your whole life telling everyone are "monsters."

Iran isn't just fighting a war over borders or oil. They’re fighting a war against the terrifying possibility that people actually like air conditioning and international trade more than they like miserable, state-mandated martyrdom.

The UAE is the living, breathing proof that Iran’s founding ideology is just a very expensive, very depressing hobby.

So yeah, Tehran strikes. Because when you’ve built your entire identity on being the "Alternative to the West," nothing is more dangerous than the guy next door who just figured out how to be the best version of it.

Real big money knows that green energy isn’t so green and is a dubious long term investment at this moment in time. Only way it makes sense is if it’s heavily subsidized and even then you’re still buying a bunch of stuff that destroys land to mine with fossil fuel driven equipment and takes tons of land and creates tons of pollution and wears out quite a bit faster than they say it does. And when the sandstorm or snowstorm or tornado covers or wrecks the panels then you’re back to square one anyways. Shame the same idiots pining for dirty green energy are the same ones who killed the best option we had to this point in nuclear.

Real big money owns oil companies - so green energy will make them lose their green money.

Heavily subsidized? We spent 30 billion to take Venezuela's oil and 200 billion to take Irans!

It's really awesome that we started project EPIC FURY to free the Iranian people, it didn't work, so now we have PROJECT FREEDOM, but that's not to free the Iranian people, it's to free South Korean container ships.

Anyway, our electricity bill this month was ten bucks. And that includes powering our car.

Exactly.

If running out of oil was any possibility, or if renewable was any kind of a cost competitive threat to oil without massive government subsidies, Big Oil would already own the entire renewable industry.

Instead we have misguided taxpayer money and venture capital gobbling up some of the best farm ground on earth to build ugly solar and wind farms that are susceptible to myriad issues while oil/coal/gas will continue to provide the large bulk of our energy needs for the foreseeable future.

*Maybe* (I hope!) by the time the panels and turbines they’re installing now are worn out and need replaced at great expense they’ll have the technology to a point it’s actually cost and/or natural resource competitive with fossil fuels.

It’s largely a false economy at this point. I’d love for the world to have magical clean energy, but the solutions we are trotting out are anything but.
