The goal was to give a candid update on the situation. If he wanted to reassure the public, he would’ve stood there and blown smoke and sunshine up everybody’s ass the entire time, which isn’t at all what he did.

A rambling, low-energy speech.  To be fair, there was no clarity to be offered and no rallying to be done.  The first, because the war was never undertaken with a specific purpose in mind, so Trump is unable to say which objectives have been achieved, which   remain, and what the expectations are for achieving the remaining ones.

There are plenty of sources that have reported why the talks fell apart, why we bombed them, what the objectives were, what we are demanding in exchange for a cease fire, how much of their military has been destroyed, etc.

It’s almost like your algorithm knows what you’re going to click on.
