Yeah I would definitely trust some Irish economist dude on Twitter citing an anonymous source about Israel’s war plans. FFS this guy is throwing shit against the wall and seeing what sticks. It’s pure engagement farming.

Iran’s domestic defenses have been decimated and their ability to respond greatly diminished. Shocker, this isn’t really being reported on in Tempo’s algorithm.

The entire NYT email this morning was negative reporting about the conflict or whatever the fuck you want to call it.   100% negative with a ton of suppositions and fear porn with absolutely no mention of strategic victories against Iran’s defenses, what it might mean for the Middle East or the West writ large, etc. Not a word.

At this point they clearly only see this as fuel for the midterm fire, at the expense of basically shilling for Iran. Wild times.

I can’t speak for certain what anyone’s war plans are or aren’t, all I am doing is sharing what’s being reported. I have heard it reported that Israel and the U.S. would like to wrap this up sooner, rather than later. And why wouldn’t they? It makes sense. It costs a lot of money to be there, and it’s disrupting markets; which we know matters to rich people.

Ignatius doesn't name the official who "requested anonimity".

Let me guess, other media organizations ran the same story from an anonymous source.
I'm guessing also that finding an anonymous source who will disagree with an administration's efforts is really not that difficult.

Fentanyl in the water supply? Take out a random set of transmission towers across the US? I mean, you could do millions of dollars in damage to the US economy just by sending guys out to run out of gas on the highway at rush hour in random places on a daily basis.

What do we win? This isn't "TOTTM". It's not a game. If we go over there and kick their ass, but gas goes up by 50 cents a gallon - we LOSE. Guess what, gas has gone up by 50 cents a gallon. That has huge implications to the US Economy, both short and long term. I don't want that. Apparently you do.
