National Gas Average $3.88

Mortgage rates As of March 20, 2026, the average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is hovering around 6.22% to 6.32%. Rates have increased slightly, marking their highest point in over three months, after recently (pre-war) dipping below 6%

DJIA - 45782 - down 8.5% since Custard's post.

Can we get rid of this lunatic soon? Though it may not matter, pass the bottle and the damage done.

National gas average finally back up to around what it AVERAGED for Biden’s ENTIRE term

Mortgage rates still down as a whole during Trump’s term

DJ (and S&P, Nasdaq) all still up considerably during Trump’s term

When this skirmish wraps the markets will have a furious rally and oil will quickly come down. Mortgage rates will probably not come down immediately but won’t go up much, if any.

Unload the crypto you don’t have before the rest of this happens

Custard - celebrating the “Average” since 1972. No wonder he thought Groce and Lovie were such good coaches at Illinois

National gas average finally back up to around what it AVERAGED for Biden’s ENTIRE term
When Biden was elected - 2.41
When Biden left office - 3.11
Today - 3.88

Gas prices increased throughout 2020, under Trump, and continued into the early part of Biden’s term as a result of Trumps policies. As Biden’s term progressed, the policies of his administration corrected the failures of the Trump administration and drove prices back down, then the Trump regime took back over and as their policies took to the forefront - gas prices once again skyrocketed

That’s an…interesting analysis.

Gas national average was $2.39 the day Biden was inaugurated. In 2022 it spiked to over $5. It averaged over $4 for that year. I’ve looked multiple places and the average for his entire terms is somewhere in the $3.50-3.65 range.

Price average for current Trump term is 3.05-$3.10, which includes the current  temporary spike.

But we all know Presidents don’t control gas prices.

Lies damn lies and statistics. Please go to the gas station and tell them you want to pay the average over the Trump term and see what they say

Mortgage rates  - 6.52%

Trump can spittle all he wants, the numbers don't lie.

Pretty good day for the economy. I would like everyone to note that I run to the board to boast good news and Murph runs here to boast bad news.

No. I run to the board to complain that Trump started this war. The economic fallout is the symptom, not the cause.

Custard runs to the board to celebrate Trump announcing that we are surrendering to Iran, which has had the effect of oil prices decreasing, which has rallied the stock market. I'm skeptical that the market understands the impact of what Trump has done, or what his surrender will actually accomplsh in terms of reducing the energy shock, but let's hope it works.

Amazon to add 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge for sellers as Iran war drives up energy prices

But the Iranians are getting bombed into the Stone Age so probably worth it
