Clinton got revenue up to nearly 20% of GDP. At that point, we can grow our way into a surplus, barring another mortgage crisis or pandemic. Clinton eventually got spending down below 18% of GDP, due to strong growth Trump can only dream about.

Right now, spending is down to 22% of GDP. Revenue is a pathetic 16%. A targeted tax increase would boost revenue, reduce the deficit, lower interest rates, and result in growth.

We also need a new fed chairman who will cut interest rates.

Jerome Powell cut interest rates for the discount window. Didn't matter. The market sets rates. That's sort of a baked in problem thanks to Trump's deficits (and Biden's, thanks to Trump's tax cuts). Think we're pretty much fucked on this one. Hope you all got refinanced 4 years ago.
