I wouldn't mind this selection/ranking and region. I think this one is doable, also think it has some probability for upsets.

ILLINI since end of January 2025

W-3 - L-4

Avg loss average of nearly 22 points per game with rankings of Rutgers N/R, MSU-#14, Wisky # 11, Duke #3  currently through week 16 in order and projected NCAA seeding of Rutgers N/R, MSU #4 (probably going to a 3), Wisky a 2 seed and Duke a 1 seed.

Wins vs Ohio State/Minny/UCLA non of which are ranked currently, NCAA projected seeds are Ohio St @ an 11 seed, Minny N/A and UCLA a 8 seed currently non of these were huge wins scoring wise, and or signature wise.

That said, I think the ILLINI are in as long as we win tomorrow, figure out a way to steal either the road Michigan game (doable-doubtful) and or the Purdue game at home to end the season, (probable with some home court calls/3's for a change).

We would finish 2 out of last 3 with one vs a ranked opponent, and hopefully win 1-2 in B1G tournament, if so we are a 7-8 seed imo at best.

Not wishing ill will on anybody, well maybe some teams, but other teams going thru the sickness we've had and showing what that can do to a team may be helpful.
We should be healthy come tournament time.

Current Bracketology has us a 8 seed with a 2nd rd potential matchup vs the devil himself.

Other than that matchup, this region would set up very nice for us. I think we could get a 6-7 seed with some more good play to close the year out. Miss St @ 7 seed is overseeded. Their season has been good, but they are going in wrong direction right now....kind of like us but lesser schedule, outside of conference play.

I don't either ESPECIALLY if we have to play Auburn. If not, well, this region sets up nicely for the Orange Kool-Aid Fan!!!

We win on Friday, and at least 2 games in B1G which I believe we will (health is on our side as will be Rez).

I think we bump up to a as high as a 5 (6) seed and we can get into the west region where Oregon is the current 5 seed. Other than Florida and Houston a little bit, the region would be a nice one for us.

Florida will easily be the hardest #2 out of all them imo.
