The Bears vs the Kitty Cats from Detroit.

I’m going out on a limb here. I going with the Bears to pull the big upset. They’ve played Detroit very well the last 3x and they have always owned Goff going back to his Rams years. Cold and windy. If the Bears can contain their run game they can pull off a shocker. Bears 23-20

Wow!

Detroit's depleted defense could make things interesting.

Will Sweat play in 75% of the defensive plays?

Will the Bear get any 1st quarter or 1st half first downs or points?

I’m gonna get wild and say they score 13 points in the 1st half. On the back of a pick 6 or fumble return…

https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2024/12/20/rest-of-nfl-was-right-about-bears-offensive-line-which-is-their-most-glaring-deficiency

The Bears have used one first-round pick on the line and have spent the second-least salary-cap money in the league.

Among the linemen on the top 10 units, 26 were first- or second-round picks by their current team, and six were major trade or free-agent pickups, typically veterans who made at least one Pro Bowl.

The Bears, meanwhile, tried to be clever.

The Bears spent a top 10 pick on an OL and they didn’t have any 1st rounders his first year. They drafted the top QB prospect in a decade with another pick and gave him a WR who might have been the first WR off the board in some years. They also had a recent 2nd round pick at OL and one of their bigger FA investments at RG. They drafted 4 OL in their first draft (despite starting the draft with only 5 picks, none 1sts). They got a pretty serviceable LT in his first draft in the 5th round.

There are other positions to fill other than just OL, especially when you blew up the previous roster because it sucked, was old, and overpaid.

The best Tackle prospect in the last draft was already gone, and he isn’t even playing LT on his team.

It appears that the roster still sucks and has overpaid players too.

Yes, it’ll be the most coveted job because the roster sucks.

It appears to be attractive solely due to Williams. Both lines need enemas.

Lol

None of the articles on this subject have mentioned the "roster." They all mention "Williams.'

He’s definitely the centerpiece. But there’s more to work with than just that.

That no one mentions because it isn't true. Even the secondary has fallen off the cliff since Brisker went down.
