Talking long-term. Still not convinced Underwood will get it done, but it’s looking a lot better than 12-18 months ago.

He won’t get it done. Whitman won’t let him cheat and his staff is gonna bail as soon as possible.

Or, you know, offering opinions in real-time. I remain skeptical as to whether his style and recruiting will hold up here. At the moment, all looks good. The arrow was also pointing up for the Bears in 2018 though, too.

I watched his latest interview after Baylor that Rob put up. Had not paid a lot of attention to him for awhile.

1) Underwood is basically kind of an old school jock gym teacher.
2) He has no system. It is some combination of "we're gonna get after it" on defense, and "Somebody make a play" on offense.
3) The recruiting has been better for sure but I am guessing a lot of credit goes to the assistants, especially Antigua.
4) He has no system.

We will not have this much talent and reasonable roster construction again for awhile. They are going to need to be strategic as to how they use it.
We could end up Top 8 with good coaching and development, or Top 30 if Underwood keeps just rolling the balls out.
Kofi looks totally lost on both sides of the ball.

I am not a real big Underwood fan. He makes zero in game adjustments. Rarely calls a time out when wheels are falling off in a game.
Has a tendency to think that trying the same thing will result in a different outcome.

This year is important to have a S16 or better run or we are back in the weeds.

It's certainly something to keep an eye on.

Seems you and I are pretty firmly in agreement these days. I see this as the apex for Underwood.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

He is simply not a good game or game prep coach.
Relies heavily on trying to instill intensity and toughness and his stars stepping up and making plays.
I like the toughness part- but a lot of teams are hard nosed and try and keep the pressure on physically. Nothing that new there anymore. It is expected at the highest levels. It is why Iowa will never be that good.
They do not guard hard enough. Another shitty coach. You can't just outscore people.

Curiously, we have been gassed and out toughed by a fair margin the last two games. Out coached in both games.

No way we beat Duke even if they are not quite as dominant as usual. Coach K will make adjustments if needed and they are at home.
My guess is Duke by 7 or even more if it gets out of hand.

I hope I am wrong. I hope we get the chemistry we had going on at end of year with Feliz and Griffin playing lights out and Ayo thriving off of the ball.

He needs to start Curbelo over Trent, and I love Trent. Play match-ups better by rotating different guys at the 4. Get Ayo off the ball. Use more high ball screens in space.
Protect Kofi better and get him the ball where he can do something.

We are currently 7th in the Big Ten in KenPom and 24th overall by the way. We are not good right now.

Yeah we all definitely had the roles reversed for him and Ayo.

Just amazed at how good THT is for the Lakers. Announcers are talking about him and the Illinois situation currently. Damn

I honestly wonder if Ayo is secretly jealous THT is in the league and he might not be. Interesting. Ayo definitely the better college player, but THT will be the better pro. Glad we got Ayo.

Baylor predictably mauling Bruce Weber’s Wildcats by 30.

Wisconsin pushes The Ville’s shit in.

Kentucky is now 1-4 after losing by double digits to Carolina.

Ohio State in a good one at the half with UCLA

Expected Iowa to play Zaga tougher

Really wish the Zaga-Baylor game had taken place. They were gonna try and reschedule but doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen.

Watch him do something stupid like knock off Tech and Kansas at home and keep his job somehow.

Arguably, he's already resurrected the season. From Fort Hayes misery to a rough ridin' close win.

Found it.

They rough ridin' nipped Te'Jon Lucas & Paris Parham by 1, then absolutely TRASHED Jalen Coleman-Lands by nine or eleven. A Season On The Brink Part II - The Resurrection of Brooth.

Sparty getting worked by NW.

66-51 with 5 minutes to go.

Nothing is guaranteed when you go on the road in conference play.
