The Ty Rodgers thing is inexplicable to me. it's not even clear they recruited over him because he played out of position last year and started for an Elite Eight team. We brought in guys from shittier teams and they get slotted above him at the start of the season? Unless he was demanding 30 mpg+ or he walks we did that guy wrong.

I'm excited about this team but it's head-scratching how we got here, and that's been a common theme of Brad's time as coach even before NIL and transfers took over. It's like he can't think 6 months ahead let alone 2 years.

Rodgers is a try hard guy that is big and can’t shoot. He will most likely never be able to shoot. Brad’s job is to bring in as much talent as he can and compete for titles. (Yes, PAzher, Big Ten titles count)

Rodgers is absolutely awash in a sea of guys his height that all have a more well rounded skill set than he has. We don’t need him at point this year so he’d be off the ball. The other off the ball guys he’s competing with for time can actually put the basketball through the hoop outside of layup range.

Turnover in college basketball is insane. We think it’s an Illinois problem, but it’s rampant pretty much everywhere. Hard telling what the Tim Anderson effect was here as well.

I’d rather have him on the team than not have him, but he’s been an extremely limited player in his two seasons here.
