If, in fact, we did score on 40% of possessions we got from offensive rebounds that is a low Off Eff number.
You really want to be producing over one point per possession so scoring over 50% of your possessions. What that means is we didn't capitalize as well as we should have
basically because of a combination of more bad shot selection/shooting and bad offensive scheme from Junior Underwood.
Our EFG% was nothing special (99th) in country.

As far as injuries, etc keeping us from an all time season - never had that sense.
We were healthy at end of year and got handled by MD and Kentucky and there is no explanation for what happened with Duke.

The only point I’m making is that looking at raw 3 point % is a little misleading when we get the rebounds at a high rate and turn a significant percentage of those into second chance points.

Illinois was being talked about by national pundits as a FF quality team in early January. I don’t think that I ever bought into that, but it was being said after we boatraced some good teams. We did have a pretty bad stretch of injuries and illness and it was obvious it wasn’t anywhere close to the same team. KJ was never the same after the wrist.

The Duke game came towards the end of that stretch, but we were definitely still in the stretch. We then put a decent run together after getting healthy but could tell there was rust and chemistry issues. Maryland was unconscious from 3 in that game. KJ had his shooting arm KICKED right in front of a ref on a 3 point attempt with a minute to go against Kentucky. Should have been at the line cutting it to 5 point deficit, instead they gave the ball to Kentucky and we had to foul. They outclassed us much of that game but not sure we got handled.

Incredible night of playoff action. Both road teams pulling off strong comebacks to steal game 1.

I do agree that 3pt% is not necessarily definitive or decisive by itself. Then again neither is offensive rebounding. Look at Angel Reese.

A lot of things didn't go our way, but we had a lot of self induced issues and were just not cut out for shooting threes at such a high rate IMO.
It was dumbfounding to watch them when they decided to attack the rim more and had a lot of success and then revert to chucking.

Celtics just went 15-60 from three and had a 7 board Off rebound advantage but lost to Knicks who only shot 17/31 from FT line.

Celts took all time single game playoff record number of threes (60) and were 19/37 on twos. Rough night all around.

Basketball is just getting crazy.

I think one of the flaws with adopting the NBA style of play is that we don’t get 7 game series in college ball. All it takes to go home for the year is a night like Boston had. We had a bunch of those nights last season.

The T'Wolves are down 44-31 at the half. 0 for 15 from 3, and most weren't close.

The Timberwolves are wasting his talent sitting him on the bench. Wish he would go to another team…

TSJ will be a journeyman 12-15 per game scorer best case scenario. Kid's got a huge heart/hustle, but reality is there are so many others that have better all around games in the NBA. Barreling towards the hoop will only get you so far, the jumper has got to improve as well as the handle in the half court.

On top of that, on this team, you have 7 guys that are arguably playing similar positions/minutes. A trade may help in minutes, but TSJ is you get what you see, a 6'5-6'6 guy who can do a little of everything....ton of guys in NBA fitting that size requirement.

He will get more minutes year 2-3 and beyond, but not now.

I wouldn't sell him short yet. He has good size and speed for a guard. Handles need to improve and defense. He's shown he can score. I do wonder at times what the logic is with barely playing him.

I'm sure it's Tim Walz's fault. If only you people were a bunch of libs maybe you could play up to Californian standards

Celtics shoot themselves out of a 20 point lead for the second consecutive game. At home.

10/40 from three. After shooting 15/60 in game 1.
