These policies were designed to help prevent a potentially catastrophic economic collapse, but they also stimulated demand at a time when the economy's ability to supply goods and services was severely constrained.
Supply-chain disruptions, commodity and energy shocks, pandemic-related changes in consumption, and labor-market constraints also contributed, so the inflation cannot be attributed to money creation alone.
