I cannot comprehend what you have seen in Eberlose, Tempo.

He is Marc Trestman, except on defense.

Very reasonable argument. Who should they have hired? Daboll was probably the hot offensive guy that year. He’s hanging by a thread in NY. He’s one of the favorites to be fired first.
Unemployed football coach. Fired twice in 10 months. Résumé includes being Aaron Rodgers’ ball boy.

It’s always someone else’s fault.

No, he’s not that bad. He’s closer to Lovie Smith. Who also couldn’t figure out the offensive side of the ball, and how to do challenges correctly.

My issue with keeping Eberlose is that if you fire him, you HAVE TO fired the rest of the staff, even after one year, which fucks Williams’ development and having to learn a whole new system. No legit HC candidate is coming here and accepting assistants that he doesn’t get to pick. Should’ve wiped the slate clean last year coaching-wise. Shake my head.

If they fire Flus, everyone else is gone. Period.

I can’t imagine any scenario in which they try to saddle a new HC with Waldron or Morgan.

Exactly. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be either. My point is that should’ve happened last year with all of them. Not you have a catch 22 that’s gonna fuck with Williams’ development in learning a new system.

Interesting that it fucks Williams’ development, but Fields was expected to overcome it (a year 2 coaching change).

It would have made a lot of sense to fire Eberflus last year. Maybe not totally fair to him, but oh well. Why didn’t Slowik get a job? Not sure why Ben Johnson didn’t either. Waiting for the perfect opening? Asked for too much money?

I think Williams will prosper regardless. Fields didn’t.

I’ll take Ben Johnson. Need an offensive HC in my opinion.

Williams is going to have a lot more to work with (as well as much more support).

I lean Slowik at this time.

Again, he’s not Trestman. Flus lost 14 games year one (worst roster in the league), and suffered a franchise record 14 game losing streak and never lost the lockerroom. There’s something to be said for that. Trestman lost the lockerroom the minute things went south. I think Flus is very much like Lovie. Competent, but limited head coach. They mirror each other quite a bit.

The talent for Caleb will be significantly better than it was for Fields, and there’s a zero percent chance they give Caleb a first time coordinator to groom him. He will get a desirable offensive head coach. If he doesn’t, fire Poles.
