Fields has all of the talent in the world when it comes to his versatility, but quarterbacks in the NFL need to make throws on a consistent basis. It can't be looked at as comforting for New York if the former Steelers signal-caller is missing simple targets in the middle of May. Accuracy will be crucial for Fields if he wants to take the next step in his career, and it's possible that he is already showing some unfortunate flaws as he works out with his new team."

Why would it be any different in NY? He didn’t get a long-term deal with either. But either way, he was offered a two year deal. Doesn’t mean they wouldn’t have cut bait year 2 if it didn’t work.

That’s a question for Mike Tomlin. If Mike Tomlin “thought he sucked,” they wouldn’t have offered him a contract to return as the starter. It’s pretty basic logic.

Rodgers, even more laughable. They offered Fields a contract before Rodgers was even let go from NY. Rodgers is a fallback option. He’s all that’s left. That’s why they are pursuing him. If they wanted him so badly (first option!) they’d have probably signed a deal weeks ago.
