That's worse than the current electoral college. The current electoral college has some distributions that end up as a de facto gerrymander, but house districts in many states are explicitly gerrymandered.

Then proportional proportional. You win  51%, you get 51% of the electors. 3rd parties become more relevant.

You did not back him. You barely tolerated him, like Tempo.

I voted for him, twice, donated in 2020, and wore a COVID mask with BIDEN on it.

Why are you resisting a national popular vote?

Progressive tears over the Electoral College are the saltiest. Sorry you do not back candidates who can win elections based on the ground rules that have existed since 1789.

The “ground rules” have actually changed a lot since 1789. I love the fact that PAMan thinks it’s best to work within a very flawed system rather than to try to fix the system. An idea he seems to find abhorrent.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Not only have the “ground rules” changed since 1789. They are radically different.

Why is it flawed? People have to try and appeal to people with different backgrounds and living circumstances. That is a good thing. FDR was able to do it, as you reminded us....

They have to try to appeal to people in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada. That's it.

With a National Popular vote, the candidates could go stump in Oregon, or Florida, or any of the 50 states, because everyone of those states, and every county in every one of those states, has persuadable voters, from a far larger set of backgrounds and living circumstances than those six states.

I don't think flyover country would ratify it. Proportional voting could be a transition.

And that. Our elections system is so flawed it’s shocking. But PAMan loves it. Not shocking.

JFC. I’ve been complaining about the system being corrupt for 30 years, not 3 months.

And saying that people who want ethical treatment of Palestinians are “pro-terrorist” or even “terrorist-loving” is a strawman yet unequaled around here. That’s quite a feat.

Too bad it's true. Just look at what the minuscule number of DNC protestors are saying.
